Ruth
E. Harris
has lived in rural Oklahoma
and Texas most of her life. She grew up appreciating
the great outdoors and scenic places and it is
often the subject of her oil paintings.
Devoting
time to her family, she delayed her art career until
1988. She has since taken many college
art courses and has continued to study
painting under such noted impressionists as Matt
Smith, John Encinias, W.C. Mundy, and others.
She
has also taught classes at the local junior college and given
private lessons at her home studio.
